Green Day lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong announced on the band’s Instagram on Tuesday that he would soon be releasing a solo covers album on November 27, based on his lockdown project ‘No Fun Mondays’.
From March to July, the singer was releasing covers on a weekly basis. The results were posted on YouTube and later, some of them as singles on streaming services. He covered a range of songs in his pop-tinged punk style, from Kim Wilde’s ‘Kids in America’ to Billy Bragg’s ‘A New England’.
This will be Billie Joe Armstrong’s second release of 2020, the first being with Green Day’s Father of All… back in February. The album will be available in vinyl format, with a baby blue, glow-in-the-dark version available on Green Day’s webstore.
Billie Joe Armstrong’s No Fun Mondays will be available on November 27 via Reprise Records.
